Biography
First-place winner of the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, Maren Daynes made her debut performance at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in December 2023. She has further distinguished herself through performances at the Gijón International Piano Festival in Spain and the Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina.
Trained under the guidance of esteemed instructors such as Dr. Hilary Demske, Dr. Gerta Wiemer, Dr. Koji Attwood, Nicolette Bird, and Mariah Sam, Daynes has honed her skills in masterclasses led by renowned musicians like Awadagin Pratt, Liza Stepanova, Lisa Moore, Santiago Rodriguez, Jason Hardink, and the Fry Street Quartet.
Maren graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Utah Valley University (UVU) in 2024 while also earning certificates in Piano Pedagogy and Collaborative Piano. Throughout her pedagogical studies, she has conducted numerous masterclasses for UVU students and beyond, benefiting from personalized pedagogy instruction from UVU's piano faculty. Currently, she is actively pursuing her Music Teacher's National Association certification as part of her ongoing research project for the piano pedagogy certificate.
With nearly a decade of teaching experience, Daynes has guided her students to success in international piano competitions and collegiate music programs. She prioritizes nurturing a lifelong passion for music while emphasizing technical proficiency and artistic expression.
Daynes is now pursuing her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas under the direction of Dr. Timothy Hoft.
