​DAYNES PIANO STUDIO POLICIES

Welcome to my piano studio! I am excited to work with you and help you achieve your musical goals. My studio is a place where passion for music, dedication, and creativity come together to foster growth and learning. Please take a moment to review the following policies, which are designed to ensure a smooth, professional, and positive experience for all students. ​PRACTICING

​

Consistent daily practice is essential. Parents should ensure their children complete all listed tasks and assignments in their practice notebooks prior to each lesson. For students under 10, parental supervision during practice is mandatory. I will establish specific practice time expectations with both students and parents. Your focus in practice should be on quality and consistency. Understand that practice time is crucial for progress and enjoyment in your musical journey. As you advance, expect your practice time to increase.

REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR LESSONS

To ensure a productive learning experience, students are expected to bring the following items to each lesson, stored in a designated "piano bag" or backpack:
1. Notebook
2. Lesson and Performance Books
3. Theory book
The teacher will discuss specific books and materials during the lesson. Parents/guardians are responsible for the cost of these materials.

​TUITION

Monthly rates are as follows:
30-minute lessons: $120/month
45-minute lessons: $180/month
60-minute lessons: $240/month​

All payments are due by the first lesson of the month. Payments can be made using Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check. My Venmo is @marenthepianist.​ A $15 late fee will be applied if payment is not received after the first lesson of the month.​

​MAKE-UP LESSON POLICY

There is one make-up lesson a month available for students to use. Make-up requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Occasionally, I may need to reschedule lessons due to my performance commitments or family emergencies. In such instances, I will contact you to find an alternative time for your lesson.

LESSON ATTENDANCE POLICY

Ensuring steady progress in piano requires consistent attendance at all scheduled lessons, group classes, and performances. Regular attendance ensures uninterrupted progress. A tardy student will only receive the time left in their lesson. On the other hand, early arrivals should enter the studio no more than three minutes before their scheduled lesson time. Parents are encouraged to attend lessons as their presence aids in the learning process and helps them understand how to support their child's practice at home. For students under the age of 10, parental attendance is mandatory to facilitate supervised practice sessions at home.

SUMMER LESSON POLICY

All students are required to sign-up for summer lessons. Without the pressures of school, students are more likely to excel in their studies during this time. Students and parents may choose which weeks they want to have lessons. The summer availability form will be sent to parents the first week of May.

​DISCONTINUATION OF LESSONS

If the student decides to stop taking lessons, it is required that a 30-day notice is given. If a 30-day notice is not given, another month of tuition will be charged. If the teacher dismisses the student, lessons and payment will discontinue at the end of that month. The student may be dismissed for the following reasons: poor attitude, violation of studio policies, lack of respect, or not practicing consistently. If a student decides to take a break from lessons, it is required that 1⁄2 of the month’s tuition will still be charged to ensure that I will not give their spot in my studio to someone else.
